Peels (TCA peels)
The TCA peel removes the outermost layers of the skin by using a solution containing trichloroacetic acid. We use this peel at thebborganics to treat acne scars, sun damage, wrinkles, and hyperpigmentation. TCA peels are available at different depths, from superficial to deep, depending on the desired outcome. Because superficial TCA peels can be performed quickly with minimal discomfort, they are often called “lunchtime peels.”
The most common application of TCA peels is on the face and neck, but it can also be applied to the chest, back, arms, and legs. Depending on the strength of the TCA peels, they can treat different conditions.
- Fine lines & wrinkles
- Irregular skin texture
- Sun damage & spots
- Brown spots & melasma
- Certain types of acne
Levels 1 & 2 – Superficial Peel
All skin types can safely use this superficial enzymatic peel, which offers a more gentle alternative to chemical peels. Benefits include hydrating the skin, relaxing the skin, and gently exfoliating the skin’s surface. Cleansing the skin is included in the peel. Massage and LED are included.
Level 3 Deeper Medical Peel
This peel is designed to target deeper skin conditions and issues. Salicylic acid, TCA, and lactic acid are examples of premium ingredients used to specifically acne, melasma, sun damage, fine wrinkles, texture, roughness, big pores, and dullness. Massage and LED are included. The Level 3 peel involves 7-10 days of peeling.
FAQs
When can I expect to see the results from my TCA peel?
Once you have finished peeling, you will see results right away. By protecting yourself from the sun, your skin should continue to improve for 30-60 days.
How long do the effects of TCA chemical peels last?
A peel’s depth and the extent of your sun exposure determine how long it lasts.
How much peeling can I expect with TCA peels?
Chemical exfoliators in our Level 1 & 2 TCA peels remove very superficial skin layers, producing little or no peeling. For the Level 3 deeper peel, it may take between 7-10 days to peel, depending on factors such as skin type, age, weather, lifestyle, and hormones.
How often should I have a chemical peel?
The frequency of chemical peel treatments depends on your skin type, discomfort level, how much you peel the first time, and your goals.
